Marino O. Perassi

General Counsel at the Bank of Italy

Marino O. Perassi has been General Counsel at the Bank of Italy since 2011. He qualified to practice law in 1986 and was admitted before the Supreme Court in 1998. He joined the Bank of Italy in 1989, working in the Legal Department. He has represented the Bank in numerous working groups of the European Monetary Institute, the European Commission, and the G10, and is currently a member of the Legal Committee at the European Central Bank (LEGCO). He is the author and co-author of various publications on commercial law, banking law, and payment systems. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the European Banking Institute (Frankfurt). He has lectured in banking law at the University of Florence and at “La Sapienza” University of Rome. He currently teaches Financial Market Law at LUISS University School of Law in Rome.
