Deputy Secretary-General of UNIDROIT
Anna Veneziano is Deputy Secretary-General of UNIDROIT and Full Professor of Comparative Private Law at Teramo University, with previous roles as Director of the Department of Private Law and a tenured position as Professor of European Property Law at the University of Amsterdam. She holds an LL.M. from Yale Law School, and a Ph.D. from the University of Florence. At UNIDROIT she participated, among other, in the drafting of the UNIDROIT/FAO/IFAD Contract Farming Legal Guide and the negotiations for the MAC Protocol to the Cape Town Convention, and she is involved in the implementation of the Rail and Space Protocols and in the project on Best Practices for Effective Enforcement. Previously, she was a member of the Italian delegation in the negotiations of the Cape Town Convention and its Aircraft and Space Protocols, as well as of the Redaction Group for the Draft Common Frame of Reference on European Private Law (DCFR) and the restricted Expert Group set up by the European Commission on a Common European law on Sales.
